JKSA Clinical Readiness Program Knowledge Advancement and Assessment Courses
JKSA Knowledge Advancement and Assessment courses are implemented through specialty-specific resources which encompass the expeditionary scope of practice for each specialty and culminate in multiple choice exams that likewise encompasses the specialty's expeditionary scope of practice. All JKSA knowledge advancement resources were developed to assist with pre-deployment preparations and during deployments. Specialty-specific KSA Knowledge courses and exams are available for all service providers to take to meet the "K" component of the clinical readiness program. Courses and associated exams are listed below.
The case-based exams encourage reasoning, judgment, and decision making within the specialties. The courses provide links to critical content in multiple formats (PDFs, video, audio, websites, etc.), all curated by experienced providers with deployment histories in each specialty. Each exam is monitored by a psychometrician to assure the accuracy, reliability, and fairness of test outcomes.
The assessment includes an online exam composed of 200 case-based multiple-choice questions. The total exam time is 6 hours, which may be spread across multiple sessions to facilitate on-demand access for test takers. Within the 6-hour testing window, missed exam questions may be revisited to reach an 80% score.
Physicians and surgeons are eligible to participant in the exams every 3 years. Register at the JKSA Knowledge Exam Portal.
